White bean stew

What exactly do you need to whip up this cozy concoction?

Well, it’s delightfully simple. Canned white beans work wonderfully, though you can opt for dry beans, just remember to soak them overnight for that perfect texture. Then, gather some onions, flavorful pastrami, a dollop of tomato paste, and season generously with salt, black pepper, and a hint of paprika. The magic lies in the simplicity of these ingredients, coming together to create a symphony of flavors that dance on your palate with each spoonful.

But what if you find yourself without pastrami for white bean stew?

Fear not, for culinary creativity knows no bounds! Chorizo makes for an excellent substitution, infusing the stew with its own unique depth of flavor. Alternatively, you can lean into the vegetarian side of things and skip the meat altogether – trust me, even without it, this stew remains a flavorful delight, a testament to the power of simple, wholesome ingredients.

Saute onion until transulate, add tomato paste, salt, black pepper, sugar and paprika. Cook 2 more minutes.

Add pastrami and white beans, saute 3 minutes. Add warm water, cover the pan and cook 30-35 minutes.

Now, onto the serving suggestions – a crucial part of any culinary experience, wouldn’t you agree? In true Turkish fashion, this stew is often accompanied by fluffy rice pilaf, its buttery grains providing the ideal canvas for soaking up those savory juices. Of course, a crisp green salad adds a refreshing contrast, or you can opt for the comforting embrace of rice or bulgur, completing the meal with a symphony of textures and tastes.

So there you have it – a humble yet oh-so-satisfying dish that embodies the essence of comfort food. Whether you’re seeking solace on a chilly evening or simply craving a taste of home, Pastrami White Bean Stew is sure to warm both body and soul, leaving you with a contented smile and a happy heart.
