The Magic of Muhallebi

For this dessert, we’re going to create a classic muhallebi, also known as mahalabia. This traditional Middle Eastern and Turkish pudding is a staple in many households. It’s a creamy, soft milk dessert that serves as a versatile base for countless recipes. The texture is wonderfully smooth, making it the perfect canvas for the sweet, fragrant peaches.

Serving Size;

In my kitchen, I used medium-sized mugs and ended up with six portions of this delicious peach pudding. If you opt for larger bowls or mugs, you might get around four to five portions. It’s a flexible recipe that can easily be adjusted based on your serving needs.

Ingredients for Peach Pudding

To create this delightful summer dessert, you’ll need the following ingredients:

– Milk: The base of our pudding, providing a rich and creamy texture.

– Starch: Helps to thicken the pudding, giving it that perfect consistency.

– Sugar: Adds sweetness to balance the tartness of the peaches.

– Flour: Works with the starch to create the right texture.

– Butter: Adds a touch of richness and enhances the flavor.

– Vanilla Extract: For a lovely aromatic hint.

– Fresh Peaches: The star of the show, bringing in that juicy, summery flavor.

– Tea Biscuits (or Graham Crackers): For a bit of crunch and a lovely base layer.

Make the recipe;

Make the pudding, add the milk, flour, sugar and starch, cook with high heat until start to boil. Keep stirring while cooking cause it’s easy to burn. It’s gonna boil in 5 minutes, turn the heat down, add butter and cook 2-3 more minutes. Leave to cool at least 15 minutes before making dessert.

Crush the tea biscuits, add 2 tablespoon melted butter and combine. Chop the peaches. When everything is ready prepare the dessert. Add 2-3 tablespoon crushed biscuits to bottom. Pour pudding until half of the mug. Add chopped peaches on top as like.

This fresh and delicious peach pudding is my husband’s favorite summer dessert. The combination of creamy muhallebi and juicy peaches is simply irresistible. It’s a treat that brings a smile to his face every time, and I’m sure it will do the same for you and your loved ones.

Variations and Tips of Peach Pudding;

– Fruit Variations: While peaches are perfect for summer, you can try this recipe with other seasonal fruits like strawberries, apricots, or mangoes.

– Toppings: Consider adding a dollop of whipped cream or a sprinkle of cinnamon on top for an extra touch of indulgence.

– Biscuits: If you don’t have tea biscuits or graham crackers, digestive biscuits or even shortbread cookies work wonderfully.

There’s something truly special about enjoying a homemade dessert, especially one that captures the essence of summer so perfectly. This Peach Pudding in a Mug is easy to make, delightful to eat, and sure to become a favorite in your household too. So, grab those ripe peaches and get ready to create a delicious summer treat that everyone will love.
